Junior Championships Get Underway in Clarinbridge
Junior C v Liam Mellows – Saturday Evening
In a warm and sunny Clarinbridge, the Junior C team had a solid first outing together. Despite trailing 2-12 to 1-6 at halftime, they regrouped well and came out much stronger in the second half. The lads rallied to close the gap, eventually finishing on the wrong end of a tight 3-12 to 2-19 scoreline.
The game marked a special occasion for six players who made their adult hurling debuts — a proud moment for them and a great sign of the talent coming through the ranks.
Captain Enda Collins led from the front, hitting an outstanding 2-7 and setting the tone for the performance. A special congratulations to Enda on being named captain for this year’s campaign — a deserved role for someone already inspiring those around him.
It was a spirited performance from a team that blended youth and experience well. For a first run out together, it was a very encouraging display.

Junior E v Tynagh Abbey-Duniry – Sunday Morning
An early throw-in at 11am saw our Junior E team take the field with a few offseason changes to the line-up. Micheál O’Laochdha stepped into goals, and Davy D slotted in at wing back.
The game started shakily — Micheál saved the first shot well but couldn’t stop the rebound, as the full back line were possibly still shaking off the sleep! Once they settled, though, the lads got into their rhythm.
Out of nowhere, Tommy Neylan sparked the crowd with a cracking volleyed goal after a pinpoint stick pass from James Forde, getting a big roar from the hill. At centre back, Poo commanded things as usual, and up front, Kevin Conlon was on fire, finishing with a phenomenal 2-10. If he keeps that form going, the E's will be tough to stop.
Special mention must go to Davy D’s attempted volley of a puck-out in the second half — one that had the onlookers wondering what exactly he was at. Tommy might need to give him a quick masterclass!
We also extend a warm welcome back to Benny Neylan, returning as Junior E captain for some unfinished business. Word has it he might still have last year’s speech tucked down the sock — just in case!
Starting XV – Junior E

Subs Used: Darragh Forde, Shane Liddy, Liam Hogan, Eamonn Corless, Paul Collins

U5/6 Enjoy Fantastic Morning at Liam Mellows
Clarinbridge U5/6s had a brilliant day out on Sunday morning, June 29th, as they travelled into Liam Mellows for a fun and action-packed blitz.
We were treated exceptionally well by our hosts — a big thank you to Liam Mellows for a well-organised morning and the generous treats they had for all the children. The welcome was top class!
Clarinbridge fielded five teams of six players, all full of pride and raring to go in the maroon jersey. Not even the damp weather could dampen their spirits — the smiles, energy, and effort on display show that the future is bright for Clarinbridge hurling.
